Forged steel flange ball valve

Wrought steel flange ball valve is a kind of ball valve made of forged steel and connected to the pipe through flange connection, which is widely used in the industrial field. 

 Structural characteristics 

 ● Valve body and valve cover: usually made of high-quality carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy steel, which are forged and precision processed at high temperature, with dense internal structure and high strength. 

 ● Sphere: It is the core component, generally made of stainless steel, and the surface is precisely polished to ensure the tightness with the valve seat. 

 ● Valve stem: connect the actuator and the sphere, mostly use high-strength alloy steel, the surface is treated with anti-corrosion, and the spherical switch is driven by rotation. 

 ● Sealing ring: high-performance plastic materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) are often used to ensure the good sealing performance of the valve. 

 ● Actuator: There are various forms such as manual operation handle, electric actuator, pneumatic actuator, etc., which are used to drive the valve stem to rotate and control the position of the sphere. 

 Operating principle 

 The ball is driven to rotate by rotating the valve stem. When the valve stem rotates 90 degrees, the through hole on the sphere is connected to the pipe, the fluid can pass freely, and the valve is in an open state; continue to rotate the valve stem 90 degrees, and the solid part of the sphere blocks the fluid channel to close.

 ● Good sealing performance: Precision-processed spheres are matched with high-quality sealing rings, plus reasonable sealing structure design. For example, some valves adopt a double seal structure with metal hard seal + flexible graphite seal to ensure zero leakage. 

 ● Wide range of application: Applicable media include water, steam, oil, natural gas and other media. Valves of different materials can also be selected according to different media and working conditions. For example, low-temperature forged steel can withstand -196°C extremely cold environments, which is suitable for LNG receiving stations. 

 ● Easy operation and maintenance: simple structure, small size, light weight, convenient maintenance, can be operated manually, pneumatic, electric and other methods, and can also achieve remote control. 

 Application field 

 It is widely used in petroleum, chemical, natural gas, electric power, metallurgy and other industries, such as the accurate control of dielectric flow in the petroleum refining industry and natural gas pipelines. It also plays an important role in the cooling water system of nuclear power plants and the control of high-risk media in chemical parks.
